ASUS ProArt PZ14 Arrives In Malaysia As A Lightweight Creator-Focused Tablet Laptop

ASUS Malaysia has officially introduced the ProArt PZ14 to the local market, giving creators another portable option in the growing category of tablet-style laptops. This is not positioned as a typical everyday productivity machine. Instead, the ProArt PZ14 is clearly aimed at users who want something light, premium, colour-accurate, and powerful enough for creative work while still being easy to carry around.

For designers, content creators, photographers, digital artists, and mobile professionals, portability is becoming just as important as performance. Many users no longer want to be tied to a bulky workstation or a traditional laptop setup, especially when their work involves moving between home, office, client meetings, cafes, studios, or travel locations. That is where a device like the ProArt PZ14 tries to fit in.

A Slim And Premium Design Built For Mobility

The first thing that stands out about the ASUS ProArt PZ14 is its form factor. ASUS has gone for a clean all-Nano Black finish with smudge-resistant treatment, which gives the device a more polished and professional look. This is useful because devices in this category are often handled directly, carried around frequently, and used in different environments.

At just 0.79kg, the ProArt PZ14 is extremely light for a 14-inch creator-focused machine. The body is also only 9mm thin, helped by its unibody chassis design. That makes it more practical for users who want to slip it into a bag and work from almost anywhere without feeling like they are carrying a full-sized laptop all day.

Despite its slim and lightweight build, ASUS is also highlighting military-grade durability. That matters because creator devices are not always used gently. They may be taken to shoots, events, offices, outdoor locations, or client spaces, so having a body that is designed to handle daily movement gives it a more practical edge.

Powered By Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite

Inside, the ProArt PZ14 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 processor. This chip comes with 18 CPU cores, 53MB cache, a single-core boost clock of up to 4.7GHz, and a multi-core boost clock of up to 4GHz.

The bigger story here is not just the raw CPU numbers, but the direction that laptops are heading. Devices like this are part of the new wave of ARM-based Windows machines that are built around better efficiency, AI acceleration, and longer battery life. For users who mainly work with creative applications, browser-based tools, productivity suites, and AI-assisted workflows, this kind of platform is becoming more relevant.

The ProArt PZ14 also includes a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU with up to 80 TOPS of AI performance. This is important because modern creative and productivity software is increasingly using AI features, whether for image enhancement, background removal, content generation, noise reduction, smart editing, or workflow automation.

Memory, Storage, And Connectivity Options

ASUS Malaysia is offering the ProArt PZ14 in two memory configurations: 16GB LPDDR5X and 32GB LPDDR5X. The 16GB model should be suitable for general creative work, multitasking, browsing, office tasks, and lighter editing. The 32GB model is clearly the better option for users who expect heavier workloads or who often keep many apps and browser tabs open at the same time.

However, both versions come with the same 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. While 512GB is usable, some creators may find it a little limited, especially if they work with large photo libraries, 4K videos, design projects, or raw media files. For those users, external storage or cloud storage will probably become part of the workflow.

Connectivity is more modern, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 included. That gives the device better future readiness, especially as more routers and accessories begin supporting newer wireless standards. ASUS has also fitted the ProArt PZ14 with a 75Wh 4-cell battery, which should help support its mobile-first design.

A 3K OLED Display Designed For Creators

The display is one of the most important parts of the ProArt PZ14. It uses a 14-inch 3K Lumina Pro OLED panel with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,800 and a 16:10 aspect ratio. That taller aspect ratio is useful for productivity and creative work because it gives users more vertical space compared to the usual 16:9 layout.

For colour-sensitive work, ASUS is pushing this display as a major selling point. The panel supports 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and has a Delta E of less than 1, which means it is designed for high colour accuracy. It is also Pantone Validated, giving creators more confidence when working on visuals, branding, photography, and design projects.

The display also supports a 144Hz variable refresh rate, which should make the overall experience feel smoother, whether scrolling, drawing, navigating the interface, or working with motion-based content. On top of that, the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification should help deliver deep blacks and stronger contrast, which is one of the key strengths of OLED displays.

A Detachable Keyboard For Laptop-Style Work

Since the ProArt PZ14 is a tablet laptop, it also comes with a detachable Bluetooth keyboard. ASUS says the keyboard offers 1.7mm key travel, which should make typing feel more comfortable than many ultra-thin detachable keyboards.

This is an important part of the device's flexibility. Users can treat it like a tablet when sketching, reviewing work, watching content, or presenting ideas, then attach the keyboard when they need to write, edit documents, reply to emails, or work in a more traditional laptop setup.

The ProArt PZ14 is also a Copilot+ PC, which means the dedicated Copilot key is included on the keyboard. Whether users love it or not, this is becoming a common part of newer Windows laptops, especially those built around AI features.

Malaysia Pricing And Availability

The ASUS ProArt PZ14 is now available in Malaysia through authorised ASUS resellers and the official ASUS e-Store.

Pricing starts at RM9,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model. The higher-end version with 32GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at RM11,999.

That places the ProArt PZ14 firmly in the premium category. It is not a casual tablet replacement or a budget work machine. Instead, it is meant for users who want a lightweight creative device with a high-quality OLED display, modern AI-ready hardware, strong portability, and a premium build.

Final Thoughts

The ASUS ProArt PZ14 feels like a device built for a very specific type of user. It is for people who want the flexibility of a tablet, the practicality of a laptop, and the display quality expected from a creator-focused machine. Its slim body, light weight, OLED panel, Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, and Copilot+ PC features make it a modern option for users who work across different locations and need a device that can keep up with a more mobile creative workflow.

The main limitation is storage, especially considering the premium price. At RM9,999 and above, some creators may expect more than 512GB built in. Still, for users who prioritise portability, display quality, AI-ready performance, and a detachable form factor, the ProArt PZ14 gives ASUS another interesting entry in Malaysia's premium creator laptop space.
