Should I Upgrade to the ASUS ROG Flow Z13? Tempting, But My Surface Pro 6 Still Holds Its Ground

So, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 is now up for preorder in Malaysia at a whopping RM10,999. That's a pretty steep price, especially with our weak MYR currency right now. I was curious about whether I should upgrade from my Surface Pro 6 (i7) to this beast, but after checking out the details, I think I'll stay put—for now.

The Specs Are Insane, No Doubt

This isn't just any laptop-tablet hybrid; ASUS went all-in with some crazy hardware. It packs the latest AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, featuring 16 Zen5 Strix Halo cores running at 5.1GHz. That's serious power! Add to that 40 RDNA3.5 cores (Radeon 8060S GPU) and an XDNA2 NPU delivering 50 TOPS of AI performance, and you've got a machine that can handle heavy multitasking, AI workloads, and even some serious gaming.

Other specs? 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 storage, and a 70Wh battery that can be charged via the 200W adapter or a 100W USB-C charger (though don't expect intense gaming on USB-C power alone).

But Do I Really Need This?

Let's be real: RM10,999 is a hefty price tag, and with the way the MYR is performing, it's not exactly a bargain. For serious gaming and demanding tasks, I already have a powerful gaming desktop at home, so I don't actually need this level of performance on a portable device.
