Logitech Introduces New G3 Mouse And Keyboard For Malaysia

Logitech has expanded its G3 gaming lineup in Malaysia with two new peripherals aimed at gamers who want performance-focused hardware without jumping straight into the brand's more premium esports range. The latest additions are the Logitech G304 X Superlight wireless gaming mouse and the Logitech G316 X 98 wired mechanical keyboard.

These two devices are designed to complement the already released G325 Lightspeed headset, giving users a more complete G3 setup consisting of a mouse, keyboard, and headphones. While the G3 series appears to sit in a more accessible segment of Logitech's gaming catalogue, the company is still packing in several features normally associated with higher-end peripherals.

A Lightweight Wireless Mouse For Everyday Gaming

The first new product is the Logitech G304 X Superlight, a wireless gaming mouse built around a lightweight and ergonomic design. As gaming mice have become lighter over the years, many brands have been pushing weight reduction as a major selling point, especially for fast-paced games where quick movements matter.

According to Logitech, the G304 X Superlight weighs no more than 60g. That makes it a fairly light option for users who prefer a mouse that feels easy to flick, lift, and reposition during gameplay. It also comes with customisable RGB lighting, giving users some room to match the mouse with the rest of their setup.

Logitech also says the mouse is made using 51% recycled plastic, which is a small but welcome sustainability touch. It may not be the main reason someone buys a gaming mouse, but it does show that Logitech is continuing to include recycled materials in more of its products.

LIGHTSPEED Wireless, Bluetooth And Wired Support

One of the more useful parts of the G304 X Superlight is its flexible connectivity. Users can connect it through Logitech's LIGHTSPEED wireless technology, Bluetooth, or a wired USB-C connection.

For most gamers, LIGHTSPEED wireless will likely be the preferred option because it is designed for lower latency compared to regular Bluetooth. Bluetooth, on the other hand, is useful when connecting to laptops, tablets, or secondary devices where convenience matters more than competitive response time.

The mouse comes with a LIGHTSPEED Wireless USB-A receiver in the box. However, Logitech says users can also upgrade to the company's PRO LIGHTSPEED receiver. With that receiver, the G304 X Superlight can support up to an 8,000Hz polling rate.

That figure sounds impressive, although in real-world use, not everyone will notice the difference. A higher polling rate means the mouse reports its position to the computer more frequently, which can help with responsiveness in competitive gaming. However, it can also use more system resources and battery, so it is mostly something serious players will appreciate.

HERO 44K Sensor And Long Battery Life

For tracking, the G304 X Superlight uses Logitech's HERO 44K sensor. As the name suggests, it supports up to 44,000 DPI. While very few users will realistically play games at such a high DPI setting, the sensor's wide range gives users plenty of flexibility to tune sensitivity based on personal preference.

Battery life is also a key part of the package. Logitech claims the mouse can deliver more than 130 hours of playtime on a single charge. The company also says a quick two-minute charge can provide up to 3.5 hours of use, which is handy if the mouse runs low just before a gaming session.

The mouse charges through USB-C, which is good to see since many users now expect modern peripherals to move away from older charging ports. It also includes five onboard memory profiles, allowing users to save different settings directly on the mouse.

G316 X 98: A Wired Mechanical Keyboard With Custom Features

Alongside the mouse, Logitech has also introduced the G316 X 98 wired mechanical keyboard. Unlike the G304 X Superlight, this keyboard does not offer wireless connectivity. It is strictly wired, which may actually appeal to gamers who prefer a stable connection and do not want to worry about battery life.

The "98" in the name refers to its layout, which is commonly known as a 98-key or compact full-size layout. This type of keyboard usually keeps most of the important keys, including the number pad, while taking up less desk space than a traditional full-size keyboard.

Logitech says the G316 X 98 is designed to offer both customisation and a "thocky" typing sound. This is clearly aimed at users who care not only about gaming performance, but also about the feel and sound of their keyboard. In recent years, keyboard sound has become a major part of the mechanical keyboard scene, with many users looking for deeper, more muted typing acoustics.

Fast Polling Rate And Hot-Swappable Switches

Performance-wise, the G316 X 98 supports an 8,000Hz polling rate and a 0.125ms response time. On paper, that is extremely fast. For competitive gaming, faster input response can be useful, although for normal typing, office work, or casual gaming, the difference will likely be hard to notice.

The keyboard also includes hot-swappable switches. This means users can replace the switches without soldering, making it easier to customise the typing feel or repair individual switches later. For anyone who likes experimenting with different switch types, this is a useful feature.

Logitech also includes PBT keycaps, which are generally more durable than standard ABS keycaps. PBT keycaps tend to resist shine better over time, so they should hold up better after long-term use.

A More Custom Keyboard Design

The G316 X 98 also features what Logitech describes as a multi-layer snap-fit gasket design without screws. In simple terms, this suggests the keyboard is built to improve typing feel and sound while also simplifying its internal construction.

Another interesting feature is the LED dot-matrix display located near the upper-right area of the keyboard. There is also a control dial, which can be useful for adjusting volume, media controls, lighting, or other functions depending on how Logitech configures it.

As expected, users can customise the keyboard further through Logitech's G HUB software. This should allow control over lighting, macros, profiles, and other device settings.

Pricing And Availability In Malaysia

Although Logitech has officially announced both peripherals for Malaysia, they are not available for purchase just yet. The company says the G304 X Superlight and G316 X 98 will be available starting 21 June through Logitech's official website, authorised resellers, and the brand's official stores on Lazada and Shopee.

Both products will be offered in black and white colour options.

The Logitech G304 X Superlight wireless mouse is priced at RM339, while the Logitech G316 X 98 wired mechanical keyboard is priced at RM399.

A Practical New Pairing For Logitech's G3 Lineup

Overall, these two new products make Logitech's G3 series feel more complete. The G304 X Superlight gives users a lightweight wireless mouse with strong battery life and high-end sensor specifications, while the G316 X 98 offers a compact wired mechanical keyboard with custom-friendly features.

The 8,000Hz polling rate on both devices may be more than what most everyday users need, but it does give Logitech a strong performance-focused marketing point. More importantly, features like USB-C charging, onboard profiles, hot-swappable switches, PBT keycaps, and G HUB support make the new G3 peripherals feel more competitive in Malaysia's gaming accessory market.

For users looking to build a matching Logitech setup without going too far into premium pricing, the G304 X Superlight and G316 X 98 could be worth keeping an eye on when they arrive locally.
