Intel Nova Lake Leak Points to Stronger Integrated Graphics for Select SKUs

Intel's upcoming Nova Lake platform is starting to look more interesting, especially for users who care about integrated graphics performance. While the company has not officially confirmed the full product stack, newer leaks are giving a clearer picture of how Intel may divide Nova Lake across mobile and desktop segments.

The latest information suggests that not all Nova Lake chips will receive the same graphics treatment. Instead, Intel may reserve its more powerful Xe3P integrated GPU cores for selected higher-end models, while lower-tier variants could rely on the standard Xe3 graphics architecture.

Higher-End Nova Lake-H Models May Get Xe3P Graphics

According to the latest leak, Intel's Nova Lake-H mobile lineup could include configurations with up to 12 Xe3P iGPU cores. This would likely place those chips in the higher-performance laptop category, where stronger integrated graphics can make a real difference for gaming, creative workloads, AI-assisted tasks, and general GPU acceleration.

The "P" in Xe3P appears to matter here. Xe3P is believed to be based on Intel's next-generation Arc architecture, commonly referred to as Celestial. This would make it a step beyond the current Battlemage-based Arc graphics used in Intel's newer Core Ultra products.

For users, the key takeaway is simple: if this leak is accurate, selected Nova Lake chips may offer a noticeably stronger built-in graphics engine compared with lower-end models.

Lower-End Nova Lake Chips May Use Standard Xe3 Cores

The same rumour also suggests that not every Nova Lake mobile processor will receive Xe3P. More affordable or lower-power versions may instead ship with standard Xe3 graphics, possibly with only two to four GPU cores.

That kind of segmentation would make sense from a product-planning perspective. Intel could use the more capable Xe3P graphics for premium laptops, while keeping simpler Xe3 graphics for mainstream machines where cost, battery life, and thermal limits matter more.

This would also help Intel create clearer separation between entry-level, mid-range, and performance-focused Nova Lake devices.

Why Xe3P Could Be Important

Integrated graphics are no longer just about basic display output. Modern laptop users expect iGPUs to handle casual gaming, video acceleration, multiple high-resolution displays, creator tools, and AI-related workloads more efficiently.

A Nova Lake-H chip with 12 Xe3P cores could make future thin-and-light or performance laptops more capable without always needing a dedicated GPU. It may not replace a proper discrete graphics card for heavy gaming or professional rendering, but it could make everyday GPU-heavy tasks feel much smoother.

This is especially important as handheld gaming PCs, compact laptops, and AI PCs continue to push demand for stronger integrated graphics.

A Desktop Nova Lake-S Variant With 12 Xe3P Cores?

The leak also adds more weight to earlier rumours about a desktop Nova Lake-S chip featuring 12 Xe3P graphics cores. That would be unusual because desktop processors typically do not need especially powerful integrated graphics, especially in systems that are expected to use dedicated GPUs.

One alleged clue is that the desktop SKU may require two VCCGTT VRM phases, which could indicate a more capable graphics module than what is normally found in mainstream desktop CPUs. If true, this may suggest Intel is preparing at least one desktop processor where the integrated GPU is more than just a basic backup display solution.

The rumoured CPU layout for this particular desktop model includes four P-cores, eight E-cores, and four LP E-cores, although this remains unconfirmed.

Still Very Much in Rumour Territory

For now, all of this should be treated carefully. Intel has not officially confirmed these Nova Lake configurations, the exact GPU core counts, or how Xe3P will be positioned across its future product lineup.

There is also a separate rumour suggesting that Intel may focus its Celestial GPU efforts more heavily on data centres rather than consumer graphics cards. If that turns out to be true, Xe3P appearing inside selected CPUs may become one of the more interesting ways consumers experience Celestial-related graphics technology.
