Razer Gives the Kraken Kitty V2 BT a Cinnamoroll Makeover With Floppy Ears

Razer is back with another character-themed gaming collection, and this time the spotlight falls on Cinnamoroll, one of Sanrio's most recognisable characters outside the ever-popular Hello Kitty. The collaboration brings a fresh version of the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT, replacing the headset's familiar pointed cat ears with Cinnamoroll's signature long, drooping ears. It is an unusual twist for a product that still carries "Kitty" in its name, but the playful mismatch is also part of what makes this edition stand out.

Rather than reinventing the headset completely, Razer has kept the underlying hardware largely unchanged. The appeal here is primarily visual, aimed at fans who want their gaming setup to reflect their interest in Sanrio characters without giving up the convenience of a wireless headset.

A Softer Take on Razer's Familiar Kitty Design

The standard Kraken Kitty series is known for its cat-ear silhouette, bright lighting and playful gaming aesthetic. The Cinnamoroll Edition takes that same concept in a gentler direction.

The headset uses a predominantly white finish with soft blue highlights, closely matching Cinnamoroll's cloud-like appearance and pastel colour palette. The most noticeable change is the pair of floppy ears attached to the headband, immediately distinguishing it from the regular Kraken Kitty models.

It is a design that feels less aggressive than Razer's traditional black-and-green gaming gear. Instead, the headset leans heavily into a cute, collectible style that would fit naturally into pastel-themed desks, streaming rooms and Sanrio-inspired gaming setups.

The product name may still say "Kitty," but visually, there is no mistaking the character that inspired it.

The Hardware Remains Familiar

Underneath the Cinnamoroll styling, the headset is functionally similar to the regular Kraken Kitty V2 BT.

It supports Bluetooth 5.2, allowing it to connect wirelessly to compatible computers, smartphones, tablets and other devices. This makes it suitable not only for gaming, but also for music, video calls and everyday entertainment.

Audio is delivered through 40mm Razer TriForce drivers, which are designed to provide clearer separation between bass, midrange and treble frequencies. While the headset is unlikely to compete with high-end audiophile equipment, it should offer the kind of lively, entertainment-focused sound expected from a mainstream gaming headset.

Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours, depending on usage and lighting settings. That should be enough for several days of casual listening or multiple long gaming sessions before a recharge becomes necessary.

For anyone already familiar with the standard model, the Cinnamoroll Edition is therefore less of a technical upgrade and more of a premium cosmetic alternative.

Part of a Much Larger Cinnamoroll Collection

The headset is not the only product included in Razer's latest Sanrio collaboration.

The broader collection also features a Cinnamoroll-themed version of the Iskur V2 X gaming chair, alongside the Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard, Cobra mouse and Gigantus V2 Medium mouse mat. A separate Kraken V4 X wired headset is also part of the lineup for buyers who prefer a more conventional design without the character ears.

Together, the products are intended to create a coordinated Cinnamoroll-themed gaming setup rather than serving as isolated accessories.

However, not every item from the collection is expected to be widely available in all regions. That may disappoint fans hoping to build a complete matching setup, particularly in markets where Sanrio collaborations are often released through limited channels.

Availability in Malaysia May Be Limited

The Cinnamoroll version of the Kraken Kitty V2 BT appears to have narrowly avoided becoming another region-exclusive product.

Razer has indicated that the headset will be available in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines through selected retail channels. However, it is not currently being listed through Razer's local online store, which could make availability less straightforward than a normal product launch.

This means interested buyers may need to watch authorised retailers, specialty gaming stores and selected online marketplaces rather than relying solely on Razer's official web store.

Limited retail distribution could also make stock harder to find, especially if demand from Sanrio collectors is stronger than expected. Products like this often attract buyers beyond the usual gaming audience, including collectors who may have little interest in the headset's technical specifications.

The Price Is Still Unconfirmed

Razer has not announced an official Malaysian price for the Cinnamoroll Edition.

However, the previous Hello Kitty version of the Kraken Kitty V2 BT was sold at around RM829, which provides a reasonable indication of where the new model could be positioned. That said, this remains an estimate rather than a confirmed price.

Character collaborations usually carry a premium over standard editions, even when the internal hardware remains unchanged. Buyers are effectively paying for the exclusive design, branding and collectable appeal rather than improved performance.

For existing Kraken Kitty owners, the decision will therefore come down almost entirely to how much they like Cinnamoroll. Those who care mainly about sound and battery life may find better value in the standard model, while dedicated Sanrio fans may consider the visual design worth the extra cost.

A Headset Made as Much for Collectors as Gamers

The Cinnamoroll Edition reflects a wider trend in gaming accessories, where personalisation and fandom have become almost as important as specifications.

Gaming setups are increasingly treated as extensions of personal style. Keyboards, chairs, headsets and desk accessories are selected not only for performance, but also for how well they match a particular theme.

Razer has leaned heavily into this market through collaborations involving games, anime and lifestyle characters. Sanrio is an especially natural partner because its characters already have strong appeal across fashion, stationery, toys and collectables.

The Cinnamoroll headset is unlikely to change anyone's expectations of wireless gaming audio. What it does offer is a familiar product wrapped in a design that is instantly recognisable and difficult to replicate with ordinary accessories.

Final Thoughts

The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT Cinnamoroll Edition is not a major technical upgrade, but it was never intended to be one.

Its main selling point is the design: a white-and-blue finish, Cinnamoroll branding and a pair of long floppy ears replacing the usual cat-ear look. Underneath, buyers still get Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, 40mm TriForce drivers and battery life of up to 40 hours.

The bigger question for Malaysian buyers is availability. With the headset expected to appear only through selected retailers and no official local price announced yet, finding one may require more effort than usual.

Should its pricing land close to the earlier RM829 Hello Kitty edition, it will clearly be positioned as a premium collectable rather than a value-focused headset. For Cinnamoroll fans, however, that may be exactly the point.
