Microsoft is giving two of its smaller Surface devices a hardware refresh, bringing Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Plus platform to the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13. The announcement came during the second day of Snapdragon Summit 2026, where Qualcomm briefly highlighted an expanded lineup of Snapdragon X2 Plus-powered systems.
There is no new Snapdragon X2 Plus processor being introduced here. The platform itself was announced previously, but Qualcomm is expanding the number of devices using it. Alongside Microsoft's refreshed Surface models, HP is also bringing the chipset to a new Googlebook.
Snapdragon X2 Plus Comes to Two Compact Surface Devices
The new Snapdragon X2 Plus configuration will be available in two of Microsoft's more compact Surface products: the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13.
The Surface Pro 12 keeps its 12-inch form factor, combining Microsoft's tablet-style Surface Pro design with the latest Snapdragon platform. Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop 13 features a larger 13.8-inch display, making it the more conventional laptop option of the two.
