TM Opens All 73 Unifi TV Premium Channels Free Until 30 September

Telekom Malaysia (TM) is giving Malaysians a reason to spend a little more time in front of the TV this September. In conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, as well as TM's own 80th anniversary, the company is opening access to all 73 premium Unifi TV channels until 30 September 2026.

What makes the promotion particularly interesting is that it is not limited to existing Unifi customers. Anyone in Malaysia can sign up and enjoy the full channel lineup during the promotional period, including premium entertainment channels such as HBO and Cinemax.

Even Non-Unifi Customers Can Watch

For the duration of September, Malaysians only need to register using an email address to access the promotion. No subscription or payment is required during the promotional period.

Once registered, viewers can watch the channels through the Unifi TV 2.0 app, which is available on supported smart TVs, smartphones and Android TV boxes. This makes the promotion accessible even to people who do not have a Unifi broadband connection at home.

TM says the temporary offer includes its complete lineup of 73 premium channels, giving viewers an opportunity to explore content that would normally require one of its paid television packages.

HBO and Cinemax Are Included

Among the channels unlocked during the promotion are TM's exclusive HBO and Cinemax offerings, which makes the free-access period considerably more attractive for movie and series fans.

The September promotion effectively turns Unifi TV into an open streaming service for a month, allowing Malaysians to experience its premium content without first committing to a subscription.

This is also the first time TM has opened its entire Unifi TV channel catalogue to everyone in Malaysia rather than limiting the offer to existing customers.

22 Channels Will Remain Free From October

The free access does not completely disappear once September ends.

Beginning in October, TM says Unifi TV will introduce a permanent free offering consisting of 22 channels.

The lineup will include 16 free-to-air channels together with six channels that would normally sit within Unifi TV's premium selection:

Anyone who registered during the September promotion will automatically continue receiving access to these 22 complimentary channels once the campaign ends.

There is no need to cancel anything, re-register or sign up for a new service.

A Bigger Push for Unifi TV 2.0

The promotion also gives TM an opportunity to introduce more Malaysians to the Unifi TV 2.0 platform.

The updated app was launched around a year ago and was itself accompanied by temporary access to a wider selection of Unifi TV channels for subscribers.

This time, however, TM is going considerably further by opening the entire premium lineup to the general public.

It is an effective way of giving potential customers a full preview of the service rather than expecting them to subscribe before knowing what the platform offers.

Celebrating National Day, Malaysia Day and TM's 80th Anniversary

TM is positioning the promotion as part of this year's Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia celebrations, commonly abbreviated as HKHM, while also marking the company's 80th anniversary.

That combination explains why the offer runs for almost the entire month of September rather than being limited to only a few days around Malaysia Day.

For viewers, the practical result is simple: a month of free access to channels that would otherwise require a paid television package.

What Happens After 30 September?

Once the full premium promotion ends, the 73-channel access will return to its normal subscription structure. However, registered viewers will automatically transition to the free 22-channel lineup.

That means anyone who signs up solely to enjoy September's promotion will still have something available afterwards without being automatically charged for a paid package.

This is an important distinction because some free trials convert into subscriptions unless users actively cancel. TM says this promotion does not require that kind of cancellation process.

Final Thoughts

TM opening all 73 Unifi TV premium channels to everyone is a surprisingly generous promotion, particularly because it also includes non-Unifi customers. For the whole of September, Malaysians can access premium entertainment including HBO and Cinemax simply by registering with an email address and using the Unifi TV 2.0 app on a supported device.

The offer becomes even more interesting because access does not disappear completely when September ends. From October onwards, registered users will continue receiving 22 channels for free, including several channels that are normally part of Unifi TV's paid selection. For anyone curious about the service but unwilling to subscribe blindly, September is probably the best opportunity yet to try Unifi TV properly before deciding whether the premium packages are worth paying for.
