What happens when you take one of the most epic boss battle themes from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter and double the speed? Absolute chaos. That's exactly what I did with my latest guitar cover of the final level music, and let's just say… things escalated quickly.
If the original track made you feel like you were barely surviving a relentless onslaught of alien hordes, this version will make you feel like you're dodging 100 rockets per second while running a marathon on pure espresso-fueled adrenaline.
Serious Sam: A Game That Never Slows Down
If you've ever played Serious Sam, you know this series does not believe in taking it slow. It throws wave after wave of enemies at you, and if you stop moving, you're as good as cannon fodder.
The final level's soundtrack perfectly captures that energy, with its heavy riffs and pounding drums driving the action forward. But you know what's even more intense? Doubling the speed. Because clearly, the game wasn't stressful enough already.
The Cover – Because 1X Speed Wasn't Insane Enough
For this cover, I decided to go all-in on the madness by playing the entire song at 2X speed. That means:
Solos that make my fingers question their life choices
The kind of energy that makes Caffeine look weak
Honestly, I don't know if this is still music or if I accidentally discovered the soundtrack to a boss fight against time itself. Either way, it was ridiculously fun to play, and I hope it gives you a laugh!
Watch & Listen!
Final Thoughts – Is This Even Legal?
After playing this at double speed, I think I might need to ice my fingers for a week. But was it worth it? Absolutely.
What do you think?
Should I make 2X speed metal covers a thing? Or should I try something even crazier—like playing at HALF speed for MAXIMUM DOOM?! Let me know in the comments!
