Touch 'n Go (TnG) is stepping boldly into the future of smart mobility with the unveiling of its next-generation open payment ecosystem — a home-grown suite of technologies designed to modernize Malaysia's tolling infrastructure. Featuring advanced RFID, Smart Lane Fast Flow (SLFF), and Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) systems, this new platform aims to redefine how Malaysians move on the road — faster, smoother, and with smarter payments.
Showcased at Malaysia's Premier Road Tech Events
The innovations were first previewed at the Malaysian Road Maintenance Convention (MRMC) 2025, and later took center stage at the MY-ASEAN Roads & Traffic Tech Expo (My-ARTTE) 2025 held at MITEC. The event drew strong attention from industry leaders and government officials, including Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who received a hands-on briefing on TnG's latest advances in tolling and open payment systems.
The exhibits didn't just show incremental improvements — they presented a complete shift toward frictionless, AI-enhanced toll management.
Titan Flow: Malaysia's First End-to-End MLFF Platform
At the heart of TnG's showcase was Titan Flow, a fully integrated, end-to-end MLFF (Multi-Lane Fast Flow) platform developed entirely by Malaysian engineers. Titan Flow represents a significant leap forward in tolling intelligence and automation.
The system relies on RFID as its primary detection method, supported by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and 3D LiDAR sensors. Together with artificial intelligence, these technologies enable real-time vehicle classification, precise identification, and reliable enforcement — even in challenging conditions like rain or heavy traffic.
According to TnG, Titan Flow is built to ensure operational consistency and fairness across all vehicle types. More importantly, the AI framework paves the way for dynamic toll pricing — where toll rates could be adjusted based on time, congestion, or vehicle class, improving efficiency and managing traffic more intelligently.
From Barriers to Open Payments
The new SLFF (Smart Lane Fast Flow) and MLFF systems mark a critical step toward open payment mobility — a future where toll plazas no longer rely on physical barriers or manual intervention. Vehicles can drive through seamlessly while payments are processed automatically in the background.
Both systems also integrate TnG's existing SOS Balance feature, a user-friendly function allowing motorists to pass through tolls even when their eWallet balance is low, provided they top up within 24 hours. This small but practical feature reflects TnG's focus on convenience without sacrificing compliance.
Expanding Beyond Tolling: Smart Parking and Transit
The company didn't stop at highways. During the expo, TnG showcased a series of interconnected mobility solutions already available to the public.
These platforms together paint a larger picture of an integrated mobility ecosystem — one that connects tolls, parking, and transit under a single digital umbrella.
Driving Malaysia Toward a Smarter Mobility Future
Touch 'n Go's new ecosystem represents more than just an upgrade in tolling systems — it's a step toward a national smart mobility vision. By merging AI, RFID, and cloud-powered open payments, TnG is setting a strong precedent for innovation led by local engineering talent.
With technologies like Titan Flow, SLFF, and MLFF, Malaysia is positioning itself as a leader in next-generation road and transport infrastructure — where convenience meets intelligence, and mobility becomes truly seamless.
