Chuwi is gearing up for another global laptop release, and this time the focus is on portability paired with modern AMD power. The company is preparing to roll out two new models under its refreshed CoreBook lineup: the CoreBook Air and the CoreBook Air Plus, arriving in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. The launch is slated for next month, and early details suggest these machines are targeting users who want powerful hardware without carrying bulky devices.
A Return to the CoreBook Line
Chuwi has been busy experimenting with new categories — including a brief venture into gaming laptops — but now they're returning to one of their more familiar product families. It's been a few months since the company last touched the CoreBook series, with the most recent update being the CoreBook X refresh earlier this year featuring a newer Intel chip. Around the same period, the MiniBook X 2-in-1 also made its debut with Intel's N150 processor.
The new CoreBook Air models, however, take a completely different direction by switching to AMD's Ryzen APUs, marking a shift toward higher efficiency and stronger integrated graphics performance.
AMD Power Under the Hood
Based on early reports from Liliputing and a recent hands-on look from MadTechTalk, Chuwi plans to offer the CoreBook Air in at least two AMD configurations:
Ryzen 5 6600H (Rembrandt)
Ryzen 7 H 255 (Zen 4)
Interestingly, while Chuwi hasn't officially launched the Ryzen 7 model yet, retailer Pegasus has already begun selling this higher-end configuration.
The 14-inch CoreBook Air – Light, Sharp, and Portable
Current listings highlight the 14-inch model first, featuring:
This combination makes it incredibly lightweight for a machine packing Ryzen horsepower and substantial memory/storage. The model appears to be priced at around HKD 4,599 (~USD 591), which positions it competitively in the ultraportable segment.
The 16-inch CoreBook Air Plus – More Screen, Similar Philosophy
A larger sibling, the CoreBook Air Plus, is also on the way. Key differences include:
Despite the bigger screen, Chuwi appears committed to keeping weight down, making the 16-inch model appealing for users wanting more screen real estate without jumping into workstation-sized territory.
Global Launch Coming Soon
Chuwi has confirmed that both the CoreBook Air and CoreBook Air Plus are scheduled for a worldwide release next month. Specs may vary slightly by region, but the overall message is clear: Chuwi is pushing heavily into the lightweight laptop arena, powered by modern AMD hardware and competitive pricing.
