Apple is once again blurring the line between technology and fashion with its latest creation — the iPhone Pocket, a special-edition wearable accessory developed in collaboration with acclaimed Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Following the debut of the Crossbody Strap in September, this new product takes the concept of carrying your iPhone to a whole new level, combining minimalist design with artistic craftsmanship.
A Collaboration Rooted in Design Innovation
The iPhone Pocket draws inspiration from the idea of "a piece of cloth," a core design philosophy often seen in Issey Miyake's work. The result is a 3D-knitted pouch featuring a ribbed mesh structure, reminiscent of Miyake's signature pleated fabric. It's soft, flexible, and sculpted to wrap securely around whatever you place inside — be it your iPhone, AirPods, or other small essentials.
The fabric's stretchable nature allows it to adapt to different shapes, creating a sense of fluidity and comfort. It's not just an accessory; it's a fashion statement that merges Apple's sleek industrial design with Miyake's avant-garde textile innovation.
Designed for Everyday Versatility
True to Apple's commitment to practicality, the iPhone Pocket is wearable in multiple ways. It can be slung across the body like a mini satchel, carried like a small handbag, or even tied to another bag for a layered look. Apple describes it as an accessory meant to "move with you" — ideal for users who want hands-free convenience without sacrificing style.
The accessory comes in two strap configurations:
A Limited-Edition Fashion Statement
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone Pocket is a limited-edition release, emphasizing its exclusive nature. Availability begins 14 November 2025, but only in select countries including France, China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
Pricing starts at US$149.95 (~RM618) for the short strap version, while the long strap edition retails for US$229.95 (~RM948). As of now, Apple has not announced plans to bring the iPhone Pocket to other markets.
The Fusion of Technology and Wearable Art
The iPhone Pocket represents more than just a phone holder — it's Apple's latest experiment in wearable design. By collaborating with Issey Miyake, Apple continues to redefine how everyday tech accessories can embody both utility and art. It's minimal, expressive, and unmistakably Apple.
