Ryt Bank Adds Apple Pay Support For Its Visa Debit Card

Ryt Bank is expanding its mobile payment options by adding support for Apple Pay, giving customers another way to use their Visa Debit Card for contactless payments. The digital bank had already introduced Google Pay support earlier this year for Android users, and the latest update brings similar functionality to customers using Apple devices. With Apple Pay now supported, Ryt Bank users can make payments using their iPhone or Apple Watch without needing to carry their physical card.

The update also supports both physical and virtual Ryt Bank Visa Debit Cards. This gives customers more flexibility when deciding which card they want to add to Apple Wallet, particularly for those who prefer using a virtual card for digital payments.

Physical And Virtual Cards Can Be Added To Apple Wallet

Ryt Bank customers can add either their physical Visa Debit Card or virtual card directly to Apple Wallet. The setup process begins within the Ryt Bank mobile application, where users can tap the "+" button to add a supported card. Once a card has been selected, the app will guide the user through the necessary verification steps.

Users will need to confirm information such as their name and card number before accepting the relevant terms and conditions. After completing the process, the card will be available in Apple Wallet and ready to use for Apple Pay transactions. The setup is designed to keep the process straightforward for existing Ryt Bank customers.

Payments Can Be Made With iPhone And Apple Watch

Once the card has been added, users can make supported contactless payments using their iPhone. The same card can also be added to other compatible Apple devices, including the Apple Watch, allowing customers to pay directly from their wrist where Apple Pay is accepted.

This can be particularly convenient for everyday transactions where carrying or retrieving a physical wallet is unnecessary. Users who regularly use Apple Pay can also set their Ryt Bank Visa Debit Card as the default payment card. Doing so means the card will automatically be selected when Apple Pay is activated unless another card is chosen manually.

Apple Pay Authentication Adds An Extra Layer Of Security

As with other Apple Pay transactions, purchases made using the Ryt Bank Visa Debit Card must be authenticated before payment is completed. Depending on the device, users can verify transactions using Face ID, Touch ID or their device passcode. This adds another security layer compared with simply presenting a physical card.

Ryt Bank also says Apple Pay uses a unique device account number together with a transaction-specific security code to help protect payment information. Instead of repeatedly exposing the actual card number during transactions, Apple Pay uses tokenised payment credentials associated with the device. This helps reduce the amount of sensitive card information shared during the payment process.

Ryt Bank Now Supports Both Major Mobile Wallet Platforms

The addition of Apple Pay means Ryt Bank now supports both of the major mobile wallet ecosystems used by smartphone owners. Android users can continue using Google Pay, while iPhone and Apple Watch users now have access to Apple Pay. This makes the bank's Visa Debit Card more flexible across different devices and operating systems.

Supporting both platforms also makes it easier for customers to rely on their smartphones or wearable devices as their primary payment method. For a digital bank, broad mobile wallet compatibility is particularly useful because customers already manage much of their banking activity through an app. Adding Apple Pay therefore fits naturally with Ryt Bank's digital-first approach.

A More Convenient Contactless Payment Experience

Mobile wallets have become increasingly popular because they reduce the need to carry physical cards while still allowing users to make everyday payments. For Ryt Bank customers, Apple Pay provides a convenient option for purchases at compatible merchants, especially for those who already use Apple devices as part of their daily routine.

The ability to use both physical and virtual cards also gives users more choice in how they organise their payments. Some customers may prefer linking their main physical debit card, while others may choose a virtual card for additional separation between online and everyday spending. Both options are now supported through Apple Wallet.

Final Thoughts

Ryt Bank's addition of Apple Pay brings its Visa Debit Card support in line with the bank's earlier Google Pay rollout, giving customers on both major mobile platforms access to contactless digital payments. Users can add either a physical or virtual Ryt Bank Visa Debit Card to Apple Wallet and make payments through an iPhone or Apple Watch.

With authentication through Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode, together with tokenised payment credentials, Apple Pay also provides an additional layer of security around card transactions. For Ryt Bank customers already using Apple devices, the update makes everyday payments more convenient while expanding the digital bank's overall payment ecosystem.
