MyDigital ID Becomes Sole Login for MyBayar PDRM App

Starting October 1, 2025, Malaysians will now need to use MyDigital ID as the only login method to access the MyBayar PDRM app. This marks a big shift in how users interact with government digital services, reflecting Malaysia's ongoing push toward a unified national digital identity system.

What Does This Mean for Users?

The change was officially announced on MyDigital ID's X (formerly Twitter) account. From now on, Malaysians logging into the app—which is widely used to check and pay police traffic summonses and to purchase accident investigation documents—must authenticate using their MyDigital ID credentials.

For non-Malaysians, companies, or agencies, the usual sign-in process with existing user IDs and passwords will remain unchanged for the time being.

A Step Toward Unified Digital Identity

This move isn't exactly a surprise. Back in August, MyDigital ID CEO Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim confirmed that both the MyBayar PDRM and MyJPJ apps would soon adopt MyDigital ID as their primary login.

He described the initiative as "a new era of digital identity verification that is simpler, safer, and more transparent." The aim is to eliminate the hassle of juggling multiple usernames and passwords while tightening digital security.

What is MyDigital ID?

MyDigital ID is a national identification management system rolled out by Mimos, under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI). It acts as a secure single sign-on (SSO) platform for Malaysians, enabling them to authenticate their identity for online transactions and government services with just one ID.

Beyond government services, the system is also expected to expand into the private sector, with banks and financial institutions set to adopt MyDigital ID as part of their login and verification processes.

How to Sign Up for MyDigital ID

Malaysians who haven't registered yet can do so via two main options:
