Xiaomi Expands Its Malaysian Line-Up With Watch S5, Smart Band 10 Pro, And Buds 6

Xiaomi's latest Malaysian launch is not only about smartphones. Alongside its new mobile devices, the company has also introduced a fresh selection of wearables and audio accessories for local users, covering smartwatches, fitness bands, and true wireless earbuds.

The new additions include the Xiaomi Watch S5, Smart Band 10 Pro, and Buds 6. While these products may be new to the Malaysian market, they are not entirely unfamiliar within Xiaomi's wider ecosystem, as they had already appeared earlier in the brand's home market. Their local arrival gives Malaysian users more choices if they are already invested in Xiaomi's connected lifestyle products, or if they simply want affordable alternatives to premium wearables and earbuds.

Xiaomi Watch S5: A Bigger Focus On Health, Sports, And Daily Use

The Xiaomi Watch S5 is positioned as the more premium wearable among the newly announced devices. It comes in a single 46mm size and features a slim 10.99mm body, making it relatively sleek for a smartwatch with a large display. At 46g, it is also light enough for daily wear without feeling too bulky on the wrist.

The watch uses a 1.48-inch AMOLED display with a 480 x 480 resolution, which should give it a sharp and clear interface for checking notifications, fitness data, and watch faces. Xiaomi is also pushing brightness quite strongly here, with the display rated at up to 2,500 nits. That matters especially for outdoor use, where some smartwatch displays can become difficult to read under direct sunlight.

Durability is also part of the package, with the Watch S5 carrying a 5 ATM water resistance rating. This means it should be suitable for typical fitness and water-related use, although users should still treat it as a smartwatch rather than a rugged diving device.

Better Tracking For Fitness And Recovery

One of the main upgrades on the Watch S5 is its health and sports tracking hardware. Xiaomi has equipped it with an upgraded 4 LED and 4 PD heart rate sensor, which the company says should provide more accurate measurements. For users who rely on a smartwatch to monitor workout effort, resting heart rate, or general wellness trends, this kind of sensor improvement is important.

Sleep tracking has also been expanded. The watch supports HRV monitoring, along with weekly and monthly reports that give users a broader view of their sleep patterns and recovery. This is useful because health tracking is no longer just about step counts and calories. Many users now want to understand whether they are resting well, recovering properly, and maintaining a healthier routine over time.

For outdoor activity tracking, the Watch S5 includes improved dual-band, five-system GNSS. In simpler terms, this should help improve location accuracy during activities such as running, cycling, hiking, or outdoor walks. The watch also supports more than 150 sports modes, giving it a wide range of workout profiles for different types of users.

One of the more unusual additions is Passion Mode. This feature detects cheering gestures and turns them into data such as heart rate, calories burned, and cheer counts. It is a playful feature, but it also reflects Xiaomi's attempt to make wearable tracking feel less limited to traditional workouts.

Designed To Work Better Within Xiaomi's Ecosystem

Beyond fitness, the Watch S5 also works as a connected lifestyle device. It supports smartphone-related features such as remote photo capture and earphone controls. It also integrates with Xiaomi Home, which makes it more useful for users who already own Xiaomi smart home products.

Battery life is another major selling point. Xiaomi claims the 815mAh battery can last up to 21 days with light use. As always, real-world battery life will depend on how users configure the watch, especially with features like always-on display, GPS tracking, health monitoring frequency, and notifications. Still, the claimed battery life gives the Watch S5 a strong advantage for users who do not want to charge their smartwatch every day.

Smart Band 10 Pro: A Slimmer Fitness Option With A Premium Touch

For users who prefer something lighter and less watch-like, Xiaomi has also introduced the Smart Band 10 Pro. This device sits in a different category from the Watch S5. It is more compact, lighter, and likely aimed at users who mainly want fitness tracking, sleep monitoring, and basic smart features without wearing a full smartwatch.

The Smart Band 10 Pro features a 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a 480 x 336 resolution and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. That is a bright screen for a fitness band, which should help with outdoor visibility. Xiaomi has also used high-strength aluminium for the body, giving the device a more premium feel while keeping it lightweight.

At just 21.6g and 9.7mm thick, the Smart Band 10 Pro is designed to be comfortable for long hours of wear. This matters because fitness bands are often worn throughout the day and night, especially by users who want consistent sleep and health data. Like the Watch S5, it also comes with a 5 ATM water resistance rating.

Health And Fitness Tracking In A More Compact Form

Inside, the Smart Band 10 Pro is powered by a 350mAh battery and what Xiaomi describes as a low-power chipset. The company claims it can last up to 21 days with light use, which puts it in a similar endurance category as the Watch S5, despite its smaller body.

For health tracking, Xiaomi has included an upgraded PPG module for more accurate heart rate readings. The band also supports sleep tracking and menstrual health insights through a partnership with Clue. This gives the device a broader wellness angle, especially for users who want more than basic activity tracking.

Fitness support is also broad, with more than 150 sports modes available. Xiaomi specifically highlights track and cycling modes, which suggests that the Smart Band 10 Pro is not just for casual step tracking, but also for users who want more structured workout data in a compact wearable.

Buds 6: Lightweight Earbuds With A Stronger Audio Push

Completing the new line-up is the Xiaomi Buds 6. These true wireless earbuds are built around a lightweight semi-in-ear design, which should appeal to users who dislike the pressure of deeper in-ear ear tips. Each earbud weighs around 4.4g, making them light enough for extended listening sessions.

Xiaomi has equipped the Buds 6 with an 11mm triple-magnet dynamic driver and a 24k gold-plated diaphragm. On paper, this setup is designed to deliver stronger bass while keeping the highs clear and crisp. This kind of tuning is especially useful for users who listen to a mix of music, videos, calls, and mobile gaming audio.

The audio experience is further enhanced through tuning by the Harman Golden Ear Team. The earbuds include Harman Master Mode and Harman AudioEFX, which should give users additional sound processing options depending on their listening preference.

Lossless Audio, ANC, And Head Tracking

One of the bigger highlights of the Buds 6 is Qualcomm aptX Lossless support. This allows for higher-quality wireless audio, provided the paired device also supports the required codec. For users who care about audio quality, this makes the Buds 6 more interesting than basic everyday earbuds.

Xiaomi has also included head-tracking support for a more immersive listening experience. This feature is typically used to make audio feel more spatial and dynamic, especially when watching supported video content or listening to compatible audio formats.

Active noise cancellation is also included, handled by a three-microphone system with AI processing. This should help reduce background noise during listening and calls, although actual ANC performance will depend heavily on the earbud fit and surrounding environment.

Battery life is rated at up to six hours on a single charge. With the charging case, the total listening time goes up to 35 hours. That makes the Buds 6 practical enough for regular daily use, commuting, travel, and work sessions.

Malaysia Availability And Pricing

All three devices are now available in Malaysia through Xiaomi stores nationwide. They can also be purchased online through the Mi online store, as well as Xiaomi's official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

For pricing, the Xiaomi Watch S5 starts at RM799 for the Black and Silver variants. The Ceramic Blue and Jungle Green versions are slightly more expensive at RM899. Meanwhile, the Smart Band 10 Pro is priced at RM399, while the Buds 6 are priced at RM499.

Final Thoughts

Xiaomi's latest wearable and audio launch gives Malaysian users a broader set of options beyond smartphones. The Watch S5 is clearly aimed at users who want a more complete smartwatch experience, with a strong focus on display quality, sports tracking, battery life, and ecosystem integration. The Smart Band 10 Pro offers a lighter and more affordable fitness-focused alternative, while still keeping many of the tracking features that users expect from a modern smart band.

The Buds 6, meanwhile, show Xiaomi making a stronger push into better wireless audio, especially with Harman tuning, aptX Lossless support, ANC, and head-tracking features. Taken together, these products strengthen Xiaomi's connected device ecosystem in Malaysia and give users more choices depending on whether they want a smartwatch, a slim fitness band, or a pair of feature-packed earbuds.
