ASUS Launches New ProArt OLED Displays In Malaysia

ASUS Malaysia has introduced two new additions to its ProArt display lineup, arriving shortly after the company revealed its latest ROG Strix OLED gaming monitor. This time, the focus is not on gaming, but on creators, editors, colourists, and professionals who need a high-end display for serious visual work.

The two new models are the ASUS ProArt Display OLED PA27USD and PA32USD. As the model names suggest, the PA27USD is a 27-inch display, while the PA32USD is the larger 32-inch option. Although they differ in size, both monitors share many of the same key technologies, making them closely matched in terms of performance and intended use.

Designed For Professional Creative Workflows

The ProArt series has always been aimed at users who need more than a normal consumer monitor. These displays are generally built for creative professionals who care about colour accuracy, image quality, connectivity, and workflow flexibility. With the new PA27USD and PA32USD, ASUS is clearly targeting users involved in video editing, colour grading, VFX, animation, photography, and other production-heavy work.

Both monitors use QD-OLED panels, which gives them a strong foundation for visual performance. OLED technology is known for its deep blacks and strong contrast, while QD-OLED adds vibrant colour reproduction and high brightness capabilities. For creative users, this matters because a monitor is not just a screen for viewing content. It becomes part of the production pipeline, especially when colour and detail need to be judged accurately.

ASUS says both displays can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits in a 3% window. This should allow the monitors to deliver strong contrast between very dark and very bright areas, which is especially useful when working with HDR content or scenes that require careful shadow and highlight detail.

4K Resolution With A 240Hz Refresh Rate

One of the more interesting things about these ProArt OLED displays is that ASUS is combining creator-focused features with performance usually associated with gaming monitors. Both the PA27USD and PA32USD support 4K resolution and refresh rates of up to 240Hz.

For professional work, a high refresh rate may not always sound necessary at first, but it can still be useful. Smooth motion can help when reviewing fast-moving visuals, checking animation sequences, editing high-frame-rate video, or working with motion graphics. It also makes the overall desktop experience feel more fluid.

The inclusion of variable refresh rate technology also adds flexibility. While VRR is commonly discussed in gaming, it can also help maintain smoother visual output in certain fast-rendering or preview-heavy workloads. For creators who need one monitor that can handle both professional review work and high-performance visual tasks, this combination makes the new ProArt displays more versatile.

Strong Connectivity For Modern Setups

Connectivity is another major part of the appeal here. Both monitors come with dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 2.1. This gives users a broad range of options, whether they are connecting to a desktop workstation, a laptop, a capture device, or a multi-monitor setup.

One of the Thunderbolt 4 ports supports up to 96W Power Delivery, which means compatible laptops can be charged through a single cable while also sending display output to the monitor. This is useful for users who prefer a cleaner desk setup, especially those working with mobile workstations or creator laptops.

The second Thunderbolt 4 port supports daisy-chaining, allowing users to connect multiple displays in an expanded setup. That can be important for production environments where one screen is used for editing timelines, another for full-screen previews, and another for reference material or tools.

ASUS has also included an integrated USB 3.2 hub, with two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port. This makes the monitor more useful as a central connection point for accessories such as external drives, card readers, calibration tools, keyboards, and other devices.

12G-SDI Support For Production Environments

One standout feature is the inclusion of 12G-SDI input, which is particularly relevant for professional video workflows. The PA27USD comes with one 12G-SDI input, while the PA32USD gets two.

This feature is not something most everyday users would need, but for video production, broadcast, colour grading, and VFX work, it can be extremely useful. 12G-SDI allows support for uncompressed video signals up to 4K at 60Hz, helping maintain image quality when working with compatible capture cards, cameras, or production equipment.

This is also what separates these ProArt models from ordinary high-end OLED monitors. ASUS is not simply offering a beautiful 4K OLED display. It is trying to provide a monitor that can slot into professional production setups where signal integrity, compatibility, and accurate review matter.

Adobe Subscription Bundle Included

To make the package more appealing to creators, ASUS is also working with Adobe to provide a free three-month subscription bundle. This includes Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Substance 3D, Adobe Stock, and Acrobat Standard.

For users already involved in creative work, this bundle fits the product category well. Creative Cloud covers popular tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, and more, while Substance 3D is useful for 3D texturing and material workflows. Adobe Stock can support projects that require licensed assets, while Acrobat Standard adds document-related functionality.

Of course, this is a limited-time subscription rather than a permanent software package, but it still adds some practical value for buyers who are already using or planning to use Adobe's ecosystem.

Malaysia Availability And Pricing

ASUS says both the ProArt PA27USD and PA32USD will be available in Malaysia starting from the end of July this year. For now, pricing has only been confirmed for the smaller model.

The ProArt PA27USD starts at RM8,650. That places it clearly in the premium professional monitor category, which is expected given the QD-OLED panel, 4K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and 12G-SDI support.

As for the larger PA32USD, ASUS Malaysia has not yet confirmed its local price. The company says the pricing will be announced soon, so those interested in the 32-inch version will need to wait a little longer before making a final comparison.

Final Thoughts

The new ASUS ProArt OLED PA27USD and PA32USD are clearly not designed for casual monitor buyers. These are premium displays aimed at creators and production professionals who need a combination of excellent image quality, modern connectivity, and workflow-ready features. The use of QD-OLED panels, 4K resolution, high brightness, and 240Hz refresh rate makes them powerful on paper, but the inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 and 12G-SDI is what really pushes them into professional territory.

The PA27USD's RM8,650 starting price also shows that ASUS is positioning these displays as serious tools rather than general-purpose screens. For photographers, video editors, colourists, VFX artists, and studios that need accurate visuals and production-friendly connectivity, the price may be easier to justify. For regular users, however, it will likely be far beyond what they need.

The bigger question now is how ASUS will price the PA32USD in Malaysia. If the larger model lands at a significantly higher price, the 27-inch version may become the more practical option for individual creators, while the 32-inch model could appeal more to studios and professionals who need the extra screen space. Either way, ASUS is continuing to strengthen its ProArt lineup for users who want OLED quality in a more serious creative workflow.
