JPJ To Suspend MyEG And Zetrix AI Services From 5 October 2026

The Road Transport Department, or JPJ, will suspend services provided by MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd under the MYEG Group from 12:01am on 5 October 2026. The decision affects their role as collection agents for JPJ services and follows a review of the companies' compliance with the terms and conditions of their agreements. JPJ said the review identified obligations that remain unfulfilled or unresolved, prompting the department to halt services through the group's channels.

JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli confirmed that all JPJ services previously available through MyEG Group channels will be suspended from that date. However, he stressed that JPJ services themselves will continue operating through the department's official and alternative channels. The public is therefore encouraged to use those channels for future transactions to avoid disruption.

Existing KPP01 Bookings Will Remain Valid

Applicants who booked the computerised driving theory test, known as KPP01, through MYEG before 5 October will not lose their appointments. Existing bookings will remain valid, and candidates can attend their tests according to the original schedule. This means those who have already completed the booking process do not need to make another appointment.

From 5 October onwards, however, new KPP01 bookings will no longer be available through MYEG channels. Applicants will instead need to register directly at KPP test centres located at driving institutes throughout Malaysia. This change is intended to maintain continuity while JPJ transitions away from the affected service providers.

Alternative Payment Facilities At The Malaysia-Singapore Border

JPJ is also putting alternative arrangements in place for non-Malaysians who need to settle traffic summonses at the Malaysia-Singapore border. Mobile JPJ units will provide payment facilities at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar in Johor. These facilities will operate daily from 8am until 10pm.

The temporary arrangement is designed to ensure motorists crossing the border can continue completing essential transactions even after MyEG and Zetrix AI services are suspended. JPJ has advised users to rely on official channels to make sure payments and other transactions are processed securely. The department also reiterated its commitment to maintaining orderly, transparent and accountable service delivery during the transition.

Zetrix AI Reportedly Owes More Than RM200 Million

The suspension comes amid reports that Zetrix AI has an outstanding amount of more than RM200 million allegedly owed to the government. According to reports citing official documents, the company had not remitted money collected for vehicle road tax, driving licence renewals and traffic summonses to JPJ from the beginning of its three-year contract in May 2023. The amount was reportedly still outstanding as of the end of September 2026.

An unnamed government official was quoted as saying the outstanding amount had exceeded RM200 million, while the Transport Ministry was considering its next steps. A Ministry of Transport spokesperson was also separately reported to have confirmed that there was an outstanding amount. However, JPJ's own statement announcing the service suspension did not specifically cite the reported RM200 million figure.

Instead, JPJ referred more broadly to compliance with contractual terms and obligations that had not been fulfilled or resolved. This distinction is important because the department did not formally link the suspension to the reported debt amount in its announcement. For now, the official reason remains the companies' compliance status under their agreements with JPJ.

From MyEG Services To Zetrix AI

MyEG Services Bhd has been involved in online government services since 2000, including vehicle road tax and insurance renewals linked to JPJ. The company later underwent a major rebranding and officially changed its name to Zetrix AI Bhd on 3 July 2025. The new identity was intended to reflect an increasing focus on technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and robotics.

The shift represented a broader move beyond its traditional role as an online government services provider. While the MyEG name remains closely associated with public service transactions, Zetrix AI positioned itself around newer technology-driven initiatives. This transition has made the group increasingly visible in areas beyond conventional e-government services.

PMX.AI Was One Of Zetrix AI's High-Profile Projects

Zetrix AI was also behind PMX.AI, an AI-powered digital twin of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched as a WhatsApp chatbot in July. The platform was designed to allow Malaysians to interact with a virtual version of the Prime Minister. Zetrix AI said the system had been trained using his speeches, writings, policy framework, preferences and viewpoints.

The chatbot was taken offline shortly after launch for what was described as system upgrades and improvements. Although it was initially expected to return later the same day, it remained unavailable at the time of the original report. The project nevertheless highlighted Zetrix AI's broader ambitions in generative AI and digital identity-related technology.

JPJ Urges The Public To Use Official Channels

With the suspension taking effect from 5 October, JPJ is advising users to move their transactions to official or alternative service channels. This applies to services previously handled through MyEG Group platforms, including vehicle-related transactions and other JPJ services. Users should therefore check the latest JPJ channels before attempting renewals, payments or bookings.

The department has emphasised that the suspension does not mean JPJ services themselves are being halted. Instead, only the collection-agent services provided by MyEG and Zetrix AI are affected. JPJ has stated that it remains committed to maintaining service continuity while ensuring transactions are handled securely and transparently.

Final Thoughts

The suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI as JPJ collection agents marks a significant development given the long-standing role the group has played in Malaysia's online government services. Existing KPP01 bookings will remain valid, but new bookings and other JPJ-related transactions will need to move to official or alternative channels from 5 October 2026. JPJ's decision also comes at a time when Zetrix AI is facing scrutiny over reports of more than RM200 million in outstanding funds.

For the public, the immediate priority is to ensure future JPJ transactions are carried out through recognised official channels. The broader implications for MyEG and Zetrix AI will depend on how the unresolved contractual matters are addressed and what action, if any, the Transport Ministry takes next. Until then, users should expect a transition period as JPJ redirects services away from the affected platforms.
