ASUS Expands Its ProArt OLED Monitor Lineup in Malaysia

ASUS is expanding its professional display range in Malaysia with two new ProArt OLED monitors, the ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV and PA329CDV. Both models are aimed primarily at creators, designers, photographers, video editors and other professionals who prioritise colour accuracy. ASUS is also positioning them as particularly friendly for Mac users, while features such as automatic KVM switching make the monitors useful for people who regularly work across two computers.

Although the two displays come in different sizes, their core specifications are essentially identical.

Two Sizes With the Same 4K QD-OLED Experience

Despite what their model numbers might suggest, the PA279CDV and PA329CDV are slightly smaller than 27 and 32 inches respectively.

The actual panel sizes are:

Both use 4K QD-OLED panels capable of reaching up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness.

They also cover 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, support 10-bit colour depth and are rated for Delta E below 1.5 colour accuracy.

Those specifications make them particularly suitable for professional workflows where colour consistency matters, such as photo editing, colour grading, digital illustration and content production.

QD-OLED technology should also provide the deep blacks and strong contrast normally associated with OLED panels, while still offering the wide colour coverage expected from a ProArt display.

ASUS Is Making Them More Mac-Friendly

One of the more interesting additions is ASUS' M Model-P3 colour setting, which is designed to maintain more consistent colour reproduction when working with macOS devices.

That is especially relevant for creative professionals who use MacBooks or Mac desktops but prefer working on a larger external display.

Colour differences between devices can become frustrating when moving between a laptop screen and external monitor, particularly during editing work.

ASUS' Mac-focused mode is intended to reduce those inconsistencies and make the transition between displays more predictable.

The company also offers its DisplayWidget Center software on both Windows and macOS, allowing users to adjust display settings through software instead of repeatedly navigating the monitor's physical on-screen controls.

The application also supports other compatible ProArt monitors.

Automatic KVM Switching Makes Multi-PC Setups Easier

Both displays include automatic KVM switching, which could be particularly useful for professionals working with more than one computer.

A KVM setup allows a single keyboard and mouse to control multiple systems through the same monitor.

For example, someone could have a MacBook connected for creative work and a Windows workstation connected for another task without needing separate keyboards and mice for each machine.

The automatic switching functionality should make moving between those systems more seamless.

For home studios and professional desks where space is limited, this can significantly simplify the overall setup.

ASUS Has Added Extra OLED Protection

OLED displays offer excellent image quality, but buyers can understandably be cautious about long-term panel durability.

For these ProArt models, ASUS has added a protective anti-scratch film that the company claims provides 2.5 times greater scratch resistance.

That should help protect the display surface during everyday use, although it does not change the usual considerations associated with OLED technology itself.

For professional users who may keep a monitor for several years, additional physical protection is nevertheless a welcome addition—especially on a display costing several thousand ringgit.

Connectivity Is Well Suited to Professional Workstations

ASUS has also equipped both models with a fairly comprehensive selection of ports.

Each monitor includes:

The 96W USB-C Power Delivery support is particularly useful for laptop users.

A compatible MacBook or Windows notebook could potentially connect to the monitor through a single USB-C cable for display output, USB connectivity and charging.

That makes it possible to build a much cleaner desk setup without requiring a separate laptop charger.

DisplayPort daisy chaining could also appeal to users running multiple ProArt monitors from the same workstation.

The PA279CDV Is Available Now

The smaller ASUS ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV is already available in Malaysia with a recommended price of RM4,250.

The larger PA329CDV is expected to arrive later, although ASUS has not yet announced its Malaysian pricing.

Considering that both monitors share essentially the same image-quality specifications, the choice will largely come down to screen size, desk space and budget.

The 26.5-inch model provides a denser 4K workspace, while the 31.5-inch version should offer more physical screen area for timelines, editing tools and multitasking.

Who Are These Displays Really For?

These are clearly not monitors aimed primarily at mainstream gaming or general office use.

The ProArt range is built around professionals who need dependable colour reproduction and flexible connectivity.

A photographer may appreciate the wide DCI-P3 coverage and low Delta E rating.

A video editor could benefit from the OLED contrast and larger colour space.

A designer working between a MacBook and Windows workstation could make good use of the KVM switching and cross-platform DisplayWidget Center.

The 96W USB-C charging also makes either display particularly attractive as the centrepiece of a laptop-based creative workstation.

For ordinary web browsing and productivity, much cheaper monitors will obviously do the job.

The value here comes from the combination of OLED image quality, professional colour accuracy and workflow-focused features.

Final Thoughts

The PA279CDV and PA329CDV strengthen ASUS' ProArt lineup with two very similar monitors aimed at different preferred screen sizes.

Both combine 4K QD-OLED panels, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit colour, Delta E below 1.5, Mac-focused colour settings and automatic KVM switching in a package clearly designed around professional creative workflows.

The PA279CDV is already available locally at RM4,250, while buyers wanting the larger 31.5-inch PA329CDV will have to wait a little longer for Malaysian pricing and availability.

For creators already working across Mac and Windows devices, these new ProArt models could be especially appealing—not simply because of the OLED panels, but because ASUS has clearly put considerable attention into making the monitors easier to integrate into a modern multi-device workspace.
