For many Malaysians, investing has always felt like something you do later in life, or something that requires queues at branches, stacks of paperwork, and a fair bit of confidence. That barrier is slowly coming down, and the latest move by TNG Digital is another step in that direction.
Touch 'n Go eWallet users can now invest in Amanah Saham Malaysia 3 (ASM 3) directly through the app, thanks to TNG Digital becoming an official digital agent for Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB). The entire process lives inside the eWallet, making it far more approachable for first-time investors who may be taking their very first step into unit trust investments.
ASM 3 Access Directly Inside TNG eWallet
The integration sits within the GOfinance section of TNG eWallet, where users can now subscribe to ASM 3 with a starting investment of just RM10. This low entry point is significant. It removes the mental hurdle that investing requires large sums of money and opens the door for students, young professionals, and anyone who wants to start small.
Even better, new users do not need an existing ASNB account. Registration can be completed entirely within the app, without visiting an ASNB branch or filling in physical forms. Once the account is created, investing can begin immediately.
Managing ASNB Investments Without Leaving the App
Beyond just subscribing to ASM 3, TNG eWallet also allows users to manage their ASNB investments in one place. Existing ASNB account details can be viewed, including dependent accounts under ASNB Bijak. Users can subscribe to new funds, add to existing investments, and keep track of their holdings without switching between apps or platforms.
One particularly useful feature is Auto Labur. Investors can set up automatic weekly or monthly contributions, encouraging consistent investing habits without needing to remember to manually top up each time. For beginners, this kind of automation can make a big difference in building long-term discipline.
Cashback Incentive for First-Time Investors
To nudge more Malaysians into starting their investment journey, TNG Digital is offering a small but guaranteed incentive. New ASNB users who invest at least RM100 in ASM 3 in a single transaction will receive RM3 cashback.
While the amount is modest, the gesture is symbolic. It lowers the psychological risk of starting and rewards users for taking that first step. The campaign runs until 31 December 2025, although ASM 3 subscriptions through TNG eWallet are capped at RM1,000 per user.
Limited ASM 3 Units Allocated for This Initiative
ASM 3 remains a fixed-price fund that appeals to long-term investors looking for stability rather than short-term gains. However, availability has always been limited.
For this collaboration, ASNB has allocated RM118 million worth of ASM 3 units exclusively for new investors coming through TNG eWallet. As with most ASNB funds, units are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning interested users may want to act sooner rather than later.
GOfinance as a Beginner-Friendly Financial Hub
ASM 3 is just one part of TNG eWallet's broader push into financial services. GOfinance, which was introduced last year, is positioned as a starter hub for users who want to better manage their money but may not know where to begin.
The section includes access to credit score purchases for monitoring financial health, the Touch 'n Go eWallet Visa Card for spending flexibility, built-in expense tracking to visualise daily habits, and integration with GOrewards to encourage engagement through incentives.
Taken together, these features suggest that TNG Digital is not just adding investment products, but gradually shaping its eWallet into a more holistic financial platform aimed at everyday Malaysians.
A Small Step That Lowers a Big Barrier
While this update may not revolutionise investing overnight, it meaningfully lowers the entry barrier. Being able to register, invest, and manage ASM 3 entirely within an app many Malaysians already use makes investing feel less intimidating and more accessible.
For those who have always been curious about ASNB funds but never quite got around to starting, this could be the simplest entry point yet.
