Noctua has officially stepped into a new product category with the launch of its NL-LC1 Series, marking the company's first-ever lineup of all-in-one liquid CPU coolers. For a brand that has built much of its reputation around premium air coolers, quiet fans, and long-term reliability, this is a pretty significant move. Noctua has always been closely associated with high-performance air cooling, so the arrival of an AIO liquid cooler series feels like a major milestone for the company rather than just another product release.
Built On A Proven Asetek Platform
The NL-LC1 Series is based on Asetek's Emma V2 platform, which is already known in the PC cooling space for strong thermal performance and dependable long-term operation. Instead of trying to reinvent the entire AIO formula from scratch, Noctua appears to have focused on refining the areas that matter most to its own identity: acoustics, vibration control, and overall user experience.
One of the standout additions is Noctua's custom NL-PNA1 pump noise absorber. This is designed to reduce both airborne pump noise and vibration transferred through the cooler's structure. In simpler terms, Noctua is trying to solve one of the most common complaints people have with liquid coolers: pump noise.
That focus makes sense. AIO coolers can deliver strong cooling performance, but they are not always as quiet as users expect, especially when the pump produces a noticeable hum or vibration. With the NL-PNA1, Noctua is clearly trying to bring its quiet-cooling philosophy into the liquid cooling space.
Three Pump Modes For Different Users
The NL-LC1 Series also comes with three pump speed profiles: Quiet, Balanced, and Manual.
Quiet mode is designed for users who want the pump to stay as silent as possible during normal use. This should appeal to those building quiet workstations, media PCs, or gaming systems where low noise is a priority.
Balanced mode offers a middle ground, giving users more cooling headroom without pushing the pump too aggressively. This will likely be the preferred setting for many users who want a good balance between temperature control and noise levels.
Manual mode gives more experienced users full control over the pump's RPM range. This is useful for enthusiasts who prefer to fine-tune their cooling setup based on their own performance, noise, and thermal preferences.
Three Radiator Sizes At Launch
For its first AIO launch, Noctua is not starting with just one model. The NL-LC1 Series arrives in three radiator sizes, giving users a few options depending on their case size, CPU cooling needs, and build layout.
The NL-LC1-24 is the 240mm model, aimed at users who want a more compact AIO that still offers capable cooling. The NL-LC1-36 steps things up with a 360mm radiator, which is usually the sweet spot for high-performance gaming PCs and workstation builds. At the top of the lineup is the NL-LC1-42, a larger 420mm version designed for users with bigger cases and more demanding cooling requirements.
This range gives Noctua a fairly complete first-generation AIO lineup right from the start, covering mainstream, performance, and high-end builds.
Optional Magnetic Auxiliary Fan For Motherboard Cooling
Noctua is also launching the NL-ACF1, an auxiliary fan that can be attached magnetically to the pump area. The idea is simple but useful: remove the default pump cover, place the fan on top, and it helps provide airflow around nearby motherboard components.
This can be especially helpful because traditional tower air coolers usually move air around the CPU socket area, indirectly cooling VRMs and nearby components. AIO liquid coolers, on the other hand, move the main cooling surface to the radiator, which means the motherboard area can receive less airflow.
The NL-ACF1 helps address that by adding local cooling around the CPU socket. However, it is worth noting that this fan is sold separately and does not come bundled with the AIO coolers.
Pricing And Warranty
The NL-LC1 Series starts at US$219.90, which is around RM904, for the 240mm NL-LC1-24. The 360mm NL-LC1-36 is priced at US$249.90, roughly RM1,027, while the larger 420mm NL-LC1-42 comes in at US$279.90, around RM1,151.
Meanwhile, the optional NL-ACF1 auxiliary fan is priced at US$19.90, or around RM82.
As expected from Noctua, the coolers come with a six-year manufacturer warranty. Each unit also includes the company's NT-H2 thermal paste, which is a nice addition for users who want a complete installation package without needing to purchase thermal compound separately.
A Big Step For Noctua
The launch of the NL-LC1 Series is important because it shows Noctua finally expanding beyond its traditional comfort zone. The company is not abandoning air cooling, of course, but this move gives PC builders another premium option from a brand already trusted for quiet and reliable thermal products.
At the same time, Noctua's first AIO series does not appear to be chasing flashy designs or RGB-heavy aesthetics. Instead, it stays very much in line with what people expect from the brand: practical engineering, acoustic refinement, and long-term dependability.
For users who have always liked Noctua's approach but wanted an AIO liquid cooler instead of a large air tower, the NL-LC1 Series could be exactly what they have been waiting for.
