YTL AI Labs is taking another step toward making ILMUchat more accessible and trusted for Malaysian users. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MyDigital ID, paving the way for the national digital identity platform to be integrated as a secure login method for ILMUchat. In simpler terms, Malaysians may soon be able to access the local AI chatbot using MyDigital ID instead of creating yet another separate username and password.

The MyDigital ID project is back in the spotlight, this time because of concerns raised in the Auditor-General's Report 1/2026. The report highlighted RM28.13 million in spending that didn't match what was approved by the relevant committee, and that naturally triggered the kind of questions Malaysians tend to ask when big national digital projects involve big money.

MyDigital ID is meant to be the government's "trusted login" for the digital world, a way for people to prove who they are online for public services and (eventually) private-sector transactions too. So when the Auditor-General's Report 1/2026 points out unapproved spending and weak controls during its early implementation, it is not just a finance story. It is also a confidence story.

If you're the type who only opens MyJPJ when there's a roadblock or when road tax renewal is due (totally normal), here's the one update you don't want to discover at the worst possible moment. JPJ has confirmed that starting 1 March 2026, MyDigital ID will become the only login method for the MyJPJ app. That means the usual "username/password" style login will be removed, and anyone who hasn't set up MyDigital ID may find themselves locked out until they do.
