Windows 11 has made power management simpler on the surface, but slightly confusing once you start comparing the available options. In older versions of Windows, many users were used to seeing classic power plans such as Balanced, Power Saver, and High Performance inside Control Panel. In Windows 11, Microsoft has pushed most everyday users toward the newer Power mode setting under Settings > System > Power & battery.

Another Patch Tuesday, another round of Windows 11 complaints. That has become a familiar pattern by now. Whenever Microsoft pushes out a fresh monthly update, it usually does not take long for reports of strange bugs, broken features, and unexpected system behavior to start appearing online. So when some users recently found themselves unable to access the C drive on certain Windows 11 systems, many naturally assumed Microsoft had broken something again.

Microsoft's newer native NVMe path is starting to look like a much bigger deal than a routine driver update. Fresh benchmark coverage from StorageReview shows that the redesigned storage stack in Windows Server 2025 can deliver major gains in random-read performance, noticeable latency improvements in some workloads, and lower CPU usage during sequential transfers. Microsoft has framed the change as a move away from treating modern NVMe storage like older SCSI-style devices, which helps explain why the gains can be so significant on fast SSDs.

Windows 11's October update has become one of the most frustrating rollouts in recent memory. What was supposed to be a routine Patch Tuesday release instead turned into a headache for everyday users, IT departments and, most loudly, the gaming community.

Over the past week, the Windows community has been buzzing with frustration, criticism, and very vocal backlash. And for once, the noise grew loud enough that Microsoft couldn't ignore it.
