As we welcome the Sikh New Year in 2026, it feels like another beautiful reminder of what makes Malaysia so special. Our country has always been shaped by many cultures, traditions, and faiths living side by side, and moments like Vaisakhi bring that spirit into full view. For Sikhs, Vaisakhi is not just a festive occasion. It is a meaningful celebration tied to the Sikh New Year in the Nanakshahi calendar, and it is also closely linked to the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. The festival is generally observed around April 13 or 14 each year.
