Now, Huawei Malaysia and Universiti Malaya are taking that idea further through a new research collaboration focused on diabetes risk and wearable health technology.

Google's I/O events are usually packed with announcements, and I/O 2026 was no different. But among those bigger AI headlines, Google also confirmed another important update for wearable users: Wear OS 7 is on the way.

Galaxy Watch owners have started noticing something that tends to get attention very quickly with any wearable: the battery is not lasting the way it used to. A growing number of users are saying their watches are draining faster than normal, and many of them believe the problem showed up shortly after a recent update.

Most smartwatches are designed to feel polished, sealed, and a little mysterious. You wear them, tap the screen, maybe track your steps or glance at notifications, but you are rarely invited to understand what is actually happening under the surface. That is part of the appeal for many mainstream devices. They are meant to feel effortless.
