OpenAI appears to have quietly adjusted ChatGPT Pro pricing in Malaysia, bringing the top consumer-tier subscription down by a very noticeable margin. For local users who previously looked at Pro and immediately closed the tab, this change makes the plan feel less like an extreme luxury add-on and more like something serious power users might actually consider. OpenAI's official pricing pages continue to show ChatGPT split across Free, Go, Plus, and Pro tiers, with Pro positioned as the highest-end individual plan.

A lot of the software people use every day rests on open-source code maintained by small teams, and sometimes by just one or two people doing the work in their spare time. These maintainers are expected to review pull requests, sort through bug reports, keep releases moving, update documentation, and respond to security issues, often without the kind of resources that commercial software teams take for granted.

OpenAI has quietly adjusted its ChatGPT Go subscription pricing in Malaysia, and surprisingly, it went down instead of up. The Go plan now costs RM24 per month, compared to its previous RM38.99 monthly fee. That's roughly a RM15 drop, which is a pretty noticeable cut for a subscription tier that's meant to be the "entry-level paid" option.

For a long time, ChatGPT has been one of the rare mainstream "big" apps that didn't interrupt you with advertising. That's about to change. OpenAI says it will begin testing ads in ChatGPT "in the coming weeks," starting in the United States, and the test will apply to the Free tier and the lower-priced ChatGPT Go plan.

For most of the past year, OpenAI's hardware ambitions have felt deliberately vague. We knew something was brewing. We knew Jony Ive was involved. And we knew the device was described, repeatedly, as "screenless." Beyond that, everything else was speculation. Now, a fresh leak is adding some much-needed texture to the story, and it points to something far more unusual than a phone or tablet.
