Malaysia's Central Database Hub, better known as PADU, appears to be entering a more meaningful phase. What began as a platform focused largely on data consolidation and verification is now being positioned as a tool for analytics as well. In practical terms, that means the government is no longer looking at PADU as just a place to store and check information, but as a system that can actively help shape policy decisions.

For many healthcare organisations today, the real issue is no longer a lack of data. In fact, most hospitals and health systems already have more data than they know what to do with. The bigger challenge is something far more practical: how do you turn all of that information into something useful for the people actually delivering care on the ground?

For years, hospitals have invested heavily in digital systems across many parts of healthcare. Electronic medical records, connected imaging platforms, remote monitoring, and data-driven inpatient care have all become part of the modern hospital environment. Yet one area has often remained surprisingly isolated from that progress: the operating room.

If you're the type who only opens MyJPJ when there's a roadblock or when road tax renewal is due (totally normal), here's the one update you don't want to discover at the worst possible moment. JPJ has confirmed that starting 1 March 2026, MyDigital ID will become the only login method for the MyJPJ app. That means the usual "username/password" style login will be removed, and anyone who hasn't set up MyDigital ID may find themselves locked out until they do.

Malaysia's push toward a more unified digital identity system just took a noticeable step forward. MyDigital ID has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a group of banks and fintech players, with the goal of improving how identity authentication works across onboarding and everyday transactions.
