The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has rolled out an update for its MyJPJ mobile app on both Android and iOS, bringing a refreshed interface along with a few new additions. While the update isn't a complete overhaul, it does introduce some changes aimed at making the app more accessible and easier to use.

If you've been feeling the pinch every time you top up your tank lately, you're definitely not alone. With fuel prices climbing, even routine errands—like a quick trip to renew your road tax—can start to feel like unnecessary expenses. That's exactly why Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) is now doubling down on one simple message: go digital whenever you can.

If you've ever shown up at a JPJ office, looked at the clock, and thought "Okay, still plenty of time"… only to be told queue numbers are already finished, you're not alone.

If you're the type who only opens MyJPJ when there's a roadblock or when road tax renewal is due (totally normal), here's the one update you don't want to discover at the worst possible moment. JPJ has confirmed that starting 1 March 2026, MyDigital ID will become the only login method for the MyJPJ app. That means the usual "username/password" style login will be removed, and anyone who hasn't set up MyDigital ID may find themselves locked out until they do.

If you're the kind of driver who still feels calmer when there's "something physical" to look at, here's the heads-up: starting 1 February 2026, JPJ will stop issuing printed road tax slips for Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM). This also means Pos Malaysia will end all road tax slip printing services at its kiosks and post offices on the same date.
