Intel just pushed out a new Wi-Fi driver package for Windows 10 and Windows 11, and while it's not the kind of update that comes with flashy UI changes, it tackles something that can genuinely affect day-to-day Wi-Fi: roaming.

Intel kicked off CES 2026 with a clearer picture of where its mobile processors are headed, officially introducing the Core Ultra X7 and Core Ultra X9 laptop chips. These new SKUs sit at the top of Intel's upcoming Panther Lake lineup, also known as the Core Ultra 3 Series, which was first teased back in October last year.

If you've recently noticed duplicate driver updates in Windows 11 version 24H2 or 25H2, you're not alone — and according to Microsoft, it's not a problem. In a new support document released on October 22, the company confirmed that seeing duplicate or oddly labeled drivers in Windows Update is perfectly normal.

Intel is preparing to announce plans to lay off more than 20% of its workforce, according to a report by Bloomberg News, citing a source familiar with the situation. The move is part of a broader effort to streamline operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and revive the company's engineering focus.

Intel is gearing up for a bigger push into the gaming handheld space, setting its sights on AMD's stronghold in the market. According to Robert Hallock, Intel's VP and GM of Client AI and Technical Marketing, the company is ramping up efforts to support developers and manufacturers who want to create handheld gaming devices powered by Intel chips.
