The real culprit is illegal cryptocurrency mining, a global trend that has quietly taken root in Malaysia. According to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), electricity theft linked to these underground mining operations has resulted in a staggering RM4.57 billion in losses from 2020 up to August this year.
