The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is stepping up its efforts to ensure Malaysia's new targeted petrol subsidy system works as intended. According to Kuala Lumpur KPDN director Mohd Sabri Seman, enforcement officers have now been granted legal authority to check the identification cards (MyKad) of motorists at petrol stations.

A New Safeguard Against Abuse - The government has announced an important control measure for the BUDI95 subsidised petrol programme, which offers fuel at RM1.99 per litre. To prevent misuse, individuals will only be able to refuel once per day at the subsidised rate.
