Bank Islam Cards Now Compatible with Google Pay and Samsung Wallet

Expanding Digital Payment Options - Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad has taken another step forward in embracing digital banking by announcing that its Mastercard Debit and Credit Card-i holders can now link their cards to Google Pay and Samsung Wallet. This means customers no longer need to rely solely on their physical cards—purchases can be made conveniently through Android smartphones or smartwatches.

This rollout is part of a growing trend in Malaysia's banking sector, where more financial institutions are partnering with major digital wallet providers. By joining the list of banks that support these platforms, Bank Islam is broadening the choices available to its customers while also promoting faster and more secure payment methods.

Convenience Meets Security

For many users, the shift to mobile wallets isn't just about convenience—it's also about safety. Contactless payments reduce the need to handle physical cards or touch payment terminals, a habit that became especially relevant during the pandemic. At the same time, platforms like Google Pay and Samsung Wallet add another layer of protection through tokenization and biometric authentication, giving customers peace of mind when making payments both online and in stores.

With support for these two popular digital wallets, Bank Islam customers can now enjoy a smoother payment journey—whether they're shopping in malls, grabbing a meal, or paying for online services.

Rewarding Customers with TruPoints

To celebrate the launch, Bank Islam has introduced a special TruPoints reward campaign for Mastercard Credit Card-i users. Running from 9 September to 31 December 2025, the campaign encourages customers to embrace digital wallets by offering extra rewards for transactions made through Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

Here's how it works: customers who complete at least five transactions during the campaign period will automatically receive 2,500 TruPoints. On top of that, those who spend a cumulative RM1,000 or more each month will be entitled to an additional 5,000 TruPoints. These points can then be redeemed through the bank's existing rewards programme, adding extra value to everyday spending.

A Step Towards the Future of Banking

Bank Islam's move reflects the larger shift in Malaysia's financial landscape toward digital-first solutions. As more consumers adopt mobile payment systems, banks are racing to ensure that their services are compatible with modern lifestyles.

For Bank Islam customers, this isn't just about following a trend—it's about gaining real benefits. From ease of use and enhanced security to attractive reward opportunities, the addition of Google Pay and Samsung Wallet support highlights the bank's commitment to meeting evolving customer needs.
