In the mid-90s, Batman was everywhere—on the big screen, in cartoons, and of course, in video games. Among those adaptations was Batman Forever (DOS), a PC game based on the 1995 movie starring Val Kilmer as Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Robin, and villains Two-Face and The Riddler.

After the success of the original Need for Speed, fans were eager for more high-octane thrills. In 1997, Need for Speed II hit the PlayStation (PSX), expanding the formula with new exotic cars, diverse tracks, and faster gameplay. This sequel didn't just build on what came before—it became one of the most iconic racing titles of the late 90s.

Before the endless sequels, open-world expansions, and cinematic storylines, there was simply Need for Speed. Released in the mid-90s, the original game laid the foundation for what would become one of the most recognizable racing franchises in gaming history.

By the late 90s, the fighting game landscape was shifting. 2D brawlers like Street Fighter and King of Fighters were still popular, but the rise of 3D fighters such as Tekken and Virtua Fighter proved that the future of the genre was changing. Midway wasn't about to be left behind, and in 1997 they released Mortal Kombat 4, the first fully 3D entry in the iconic franchise.

When Mortal Kombat first hit arcades in 1992, it shocked and amazed players with its gritty visuals, unique characters, and violent finishing moves. But just one year later, Midway raised the stakes with Mortal Kombat II—a sequel that not only expanded the roster and moveset but also solidified the franchise as a cornerstone of the fighting game genre.
