NVIDIA: Connector Melting Issues Resolved, RTX 50 Series Deemed Safe

Tech Gadgets | 26 January 2025
NVIDIA has reassured consumers that the infamous 12VHPWR connector melting issue, which affected the GeForce RTX 4090, will not be a concern for the upcoming RTX 50 Series. According to the company, the problem was limited to the previous generation and won't resurface with the new Blackwell architecture cards. During an Editor's Day Q&A session in South Korea earlier this month, an attendee inquired about the melting connector and whether NVIDIA had addressed the issue. The company confirmed that it has spent the past year refining the power connector design. As highlighted in reviews of the RTX 5090 FE, the card now features an updated and more reliable connector, ensuring improved safety.

Upgraded my CPU Cooler to Deepcool LT520

Tech Gadgets | 20 January 2025
I upgraded to the Deepcool LT520 in January 2024, replacing my old XPSC Raystorm cooler, which had served me well for several years. Unfortunately, the pump on the Raystorm had gone faulty, and after considering the costs and effort involved in replacing it, I realized it wasn't worth the hassle. Instead of dealing with the complexities of a custom loop again, I decided to switch to an AIO cooler for a more straightforward, low-maintenance solution. The LT520 stood out as an excellent choice due to its balance of performance, aesthetics, and ease of installation, making the transition from my custom water-cooling setup much smoother than expected.
